Bernard Kouchner visits town hall meeting in Vucitrn, 12 August 2000

UNMIK chief Bernard Kouchner began a series of visits to Kosovo communities in August to talk directly with them about their concerns. During a recent stop in Vucitrn, Dr. Kouchner took part in a "Town Hall Meeting," attended by hundreds of local residents, and urged the audience to participate in the upcoming elections and to be tolerant of other ethnic communities. The local residents, for their part, questioned Dr. Kouchner on many issues, including property rights, travel documents and UNMIK's strategy for ensuring free and fair elections.
