The output of Photo Unit in UNMIK includes SRSG
coverage, selected press coverage and relevant thematic coverage,
such as detainees, refugees, minorities, economic reconstruction,
youth, human rights, and other major themes. Only selected photos
are available on the web.
Other photos on the recent history of UNMIK are only available
off-line. In the last year the collection of UNMIK photos has
been systematized for easier retrieval. The material shot in digital
format such as regular coverage is kept on a desktop computer.
Material shot in film subjects for campaigns, posters, etc. are
kept in print and negatives. All the negatives are maintained
in the Photo Unit. The new material is catalogued with a basic
identification of event, date, and photographer's name. A short
caption is also provided.
The photos produced by the Photo Unit have
been displayed in major publications and are used to illustrate
news stories from all over. Selected visuals were exposed in ...

to see the pictures in that important event.
In the near future, all the selected pictures
will be kept in on-line database with low resolution thumbnails
for easier access to a worldwide audience, especially the press,
and other UN agencies. If press or media companies need to use
UNMIK photos for publications or news stories, the producer should
contact the Photo Unit for a higher resolution copy of the photograph.
