UNMIK MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR EXTREMISTS TO GIVE ORDERS IN KOSOVO

"UNMIK Administration and its Administrator Hans Haekkerup make it possible for extremists and criminals to act and continue giving orders in Kosovo," stressed Former KLA political leader Adem Demaçi to the Belgrade newspaper Blic, reported Koha Ditore on page three.

"The right to military, defense, finances, foreign politics and all other rights that deal with the attributes of statehood are denied to Albanians. UNMIK is also denying Serbs' request about increasing their security and does not guarantee about Serbs' lives in Kosovo," stressed Demaçi for Blic.

According to Demaçi, "Albanian bandits" are responsible for the murder cases in Kosovo and in majority of the cases, the victims are Albanians themselves. "Everything is possible here. Every humanitarian organization has been robbed although they have good security guards. No one can guarantee anything because KFOR and UNMIK do not want to solve problems. We have to do this by ourselves by participating in the elections thus making it legitimate for the parliament to take over the government," stated Demaçi, one of the many compilers of Kosovo's Constitution.

RUGOVA: MURDERS DESTROY IMAGE OF KOSOVO AND ITS PEOPLE

Two of today's daily papers, Koha Ditore on page two and Bota Sot on page three carried the communiqué issued by LDK Chairman Ibrahim Rugova regarding the murders that took place in Skënderaj.

"Regarding the incident that took place on Friday in Skënderaj, the LDK strongly condemns the murder of my personal bodyguard Besim Dajaku, the journalist of "Bota Sot" Bekim Kastrati and the heavy injuries of Gani Geci.

For the LDK, Dajaku's murder is an attack against the LDK and Kosovo's joint institutions with UNMIK. Whereas the murder of Kastrati is an attack against the intellectual free press, the paper said.

The attack is committed by those who are against the men and women who fought for the freedom of Kosovo and these people will sooner or later face justice. Due to the fact that these people work against freedom, independence and the future of our children and their children's children, the attack took place during the campaign for the national elections, which are solemn and historic acts for Kosovo's population.

This criminal act, which has a political background, destroys the image of Kosovo and its people, whose aim is to build freedom and establish our precious state. We demand the justice bodies to capture these criminals as soon as possible. We also appeal to all citizens and political forces to help in bringing an end to these crimes and their perpetrators, to hold calm and democratic elections, and proceed forward toward Kosovo's bright future.

We express our condolences to the families of the departed."

THE ELECTORAL CAMPAIGN ROUNDUP

The incidents that took place in Skënderaj resulted in the LDK canceling its electoral campaign for a few days. Because LDK sympathizers were not informed, they gathered in Banjë of Malishevë. At around 1200 hours, LDK Chairman in Malishevë Jakup Krasniqi showed up to inform the gathered crowd that the LDK has canceled the campaign for the weekend, reported Koha Ditore on page seven.

"The rally failed to take place due to the monstrous crime that took place last night, which is a great disappointment for us," stressed Krasniqi for the participants.

Bota Sot carried a report on the PSDK in Prizren. According to PDSK Chairwoman Kaqusha Jashari, clear visions for solving the problems, which Kosovo and its population are facing, characterize the program of the PSDK.

If the PSDK candidates gain the right to participate in Kosovo's new legislation, they will give their utmost contribution in helping Kosovo approach Europe and establish bodies which will turn Kosovo into a genuine state, reported Bota Sot.

Koha Ditore on page nine reported on another small party continuing its electoral campaign in Bishtazhin of Gjakova municipality. Regarding the incidents that took place in Skënderaj, PLK Chairman Gjergj Dedaj turned to the crowd and said, "we must be different from those who fire away in Kosovo. These people, or better-said criminals, should be aware of the fact that they are shooting towards the graves of those who sacrificed their lives for us. Our duty is to turn the sacrifices of our martyrs into a bridge that links Kosovo with Europe."

According to Dedaj, the great political parties are cheating during their campaigns. "They cannot hold a dialogue with people like Covic without the Serb government fulfilling our main condition, which is to solve the cases of the missing. It is not right to discuss the fate of Kosovo with Serbia. On 17 November, you should vote for the proven values and not for the myths and legends," quoted Koha Ditore Dedaj.

"Due to the fact that we have many other problems and issues to deal with in the first session of the new parliament, it would be better to release the Albanian political prisoners before the big day, which is 17 November," stressed AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj during his rally in Gjilan, reported Koha Ditore on page eight.

"We are entering a democratic and electoral competition, through which we will establish democratic institutions," stressed Haradinaj. According to him, the AAK will not allow the establishment of parallel activities, including the parallel education of minorities in Kosovo. "The minorities will have the possibility to get their education in Kosovar institutions and in accordance with the laws issued by the parliament," stressed Haradinaj regarding the tendencies to divide Kosovo into enclaves through parallel education. "I therefore request your support in order for the AAK to be able to solve the problems of our daily life," stressed Haradinaj.

"These are the first free elections, which Kosovo is holding without foreign pressure. Therefore, Kosovo will win in the November elections. On this date, our duty is to prove it to the international community and the rest of the world that Kosovo is capable of establishing its democratic institutions. But the PDK must win in order for this to take place," stressed PDK member Hydajet Hyseni during an electoral rally in Burim, reported Koha Ditore on page eight.

"If you vote for the PDK, you will impede the efforts of specific people in northern Mitrovica and Belgrade, whose aim is to talk to other people. The PDK unites the youth of Kosovo. After all, and who can build Kosovo's future better than the youth, which are the people of Hashim Thaçi, Albin Kurti and Nait Hasani. The immortal army of the legendary hero Adem Jashari would have wanted this," stressed Hyseni for Koha Ditore.

"If today begins with your sacrifice yesterday, then tomorrow will begin with your vote for the PDK. For us, independence is not just an expression, but it is the reality of Kosovo, which no one can prevent from taking place," stressed PDK member Adem Grabovci.

Koha Ditore on page nine carried a report on the LPK holding its electoral campaign in Drenas. "The LPK has a clear national vision of creating convenient circumstances for establishing the state of Kosovo. The LPK will cooperate with other healthy political forces during this process. We believe that the Albanian integration contributes to the stabilization of the Balkans and the democratization of the world," stressed LPK Chairwoman Emine Ibrahimi Ibriqi.
