New Bus Regulation in Pristina

Pristina -- By vote of the Municipal Assembly on June 6, 2001, a new regulation has been passed designating Pristina municipal bus route 4 (Sunny Hill - Germia Swimming pool) as a route to be served only by the fleet of buses belonging to the Municipal company "Trafiku Urban".

This regulation was adopted with full transparency and the involvement of all parties and with the best interests of the people of Pristina in mind.  Restricting minibus service on route 4 will cut down on congestion on Mother Theresa and Ramiz Sadiku Boulevards, and strengthen the operations of Trafiku Urban, a public bus company supported in part by the taxpayers of Kosovo.

Since Monday morning, July 16, all minibuses are forbidden on bus route 4 and all violators will be stopped by UNMIK police and KPS and fined from 40 DM.

Route 4 will henceforth be served by 15 Trafiku Urban buses (capacity 75 people) which will assure coverage of the route 24 hours a day.  During the day, buses will pass at five to fifteen minute intervals and at night every half hour.

The final schedule of Municipal Buses will be posted in all bus stops along route 4 after a users study is completed within the next two weeks.

Trafiku Urban's goal in serving route 4 will be to improve the quality of service, to adhere to a strict time schedule and to ensure the security of its passengers (all buses should be connected to police by radio).
