PTK Gets New Management

PRISTINA -  A new management team has been appointed to PTK. Ms. Leme Xhema, Director General of PTK, has announced the following names:

Mr. Adnan Merovci as Director, Post
Mr. Bedri Rama as Director, Telecom
Mr. Sebahedin Ramaxhiku as Legal Manager
Mr. Bujar Sokoli as Financial Manager and
Mr. Drition Halili as Commercial Manager

PTK had advertised in the local newspapers in November 2001 announcing the vacancies in the light of the changing needs of PTK. Seventy one candidates applied for these positions and 14 were short listed by a team of independent international consultants engaged by PTK for this purpose. These candidates participated in an "assessment center" from 12 to 14 December 2001 in which the consultants, assisted by two observers from PTK and UNMIK, tested the applicants according to commonly accepted management standards. Special care was given to such issues as future orientation, leadership, social competence, special field experience and stress resistance.

Based on the evaluation, candidates for the different positions were recommended to Ms. Leme Xhema, who took the decision, with the participation of UNMIK Directorate of Infrastructure Affairs/Post and Telecommunications, to appoint the five persons mentioned above to the new management team of PTK.

PTK and the UNMIK Directorate of Infrastructure Affairs/Post and Telecommunications extend their thanks for the valuable services of the outgoing directors of PTK who served the PTK in a highly professional manner during their term.
