SRSG Michael Steiner meets with M. Dominique de Villepin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France

PRISTINA – SRSG Michael Steiner met today with M. Dominique de Villepin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, to discuss the general situation in Kosovo and the contribution of France to the international efforts.

The SRSG said after the meeting that they were in “full agreement on the strategy” for Kosovo and that UNMIK had “the full support of the French Government”. He went on to emphasize the close relationship between KFOR and UNMIK and particularly between himself and General Marcel Valentin, COMKFOR. He stressed that “KFOR and UNMIK worked perfectly together, also in Mitrovica”.

M. Dominique de Villepin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France said that he was “happy to say that we really do share the same objectives here in Kosovo – Stability, Democracy, Development, Reconciliation.”
