Continuous Violations of Journalism Standards by Bota Sot

Bota Sot newspaper has recently added a series of insulting, misleading and inaccurate articles to its long list of violations of journalism standards.

In one of these stories, Bota Sot accused an UNMIK spokesman of being ignorant of the Constitutional Framework then quoted a single phrase from the document to justify a patently erroneous interpretation of the competencies of Kosovo's institutions.

Bota Sot's original transgression in publishing a demonstrably misleading story was compounded by it failure to publish a rebuttal from UNMIK even after promising to do so.

Such unprofessional conduct insults Bota Sot's own readers and does a serious disservice to Kosovans who are grappling with the difficult challenges of making Kosovo a respected and functioning society.
