Acting SRSG Charles Brayshaw Meets Municipal Officials in Dragash

PRISTINA – The acting SRSG Charles Brayshaw today visited the Municipality of Dragash, where he met with the President, his two deputies, the CEO and party leaders.

In the meeting with these leaders Mr Brayshaw appreciated the good interethnic relationships in the municipality, which he said was an example for Kosovo. He referred to the fact that the turn-out in the municipal elections last year was very high from all communities and the elected leaders had managed to form a local government that reflects the composition of the population in the municipality.

One major concern the leaders expressed was the economic situation of the municipality. The acting SRSG Charles Brayshaw expressed his support for quick privatisation of the two Socially Owned Enterprises that were once the main employers in the town.
