Acting SRSG Charles Brayshaw Condemns Killing of UNMIK Police Officer

PRISTINA – Acting SRSG Charles Brayshaw has strongly condemned the killing of one UNMIK Police officer in an attack on an UNMIK Police vehicle near Slatina village in Leposavic last night.

Mr. Brayshaw said “this was a despicable act. I know that the people of Kosovo are astounded by this murder and repudiate it completely. I know they find this as repugnant as I do. This was a direct attack on the international forces of law and order.”

“UNMIK Police are here to assist in establishing the rule of law. By attacking the police, those responsible for this attack will not succeed in distracting the police from their duties.”

“I extend my condolences to the family of the officer and to the Indian Police Contingent whose officers have given great service to Kosovo,” said the acting SRSG Charles Brayshaw.
