SRSG Opens Refurbished Elementary School in Kosovo Polje/Fushe Kosove Municipality

PRISTINA – SRSG Harri Holkeri today attended the opening ceremony of Bajram Curri Elementary School in Slatina village in Kosovo Polje/Fushe Kosove municipality.

“Children are the future of Kosovo. Let Kosovo’s children learn from their innocence and let them be educated in the values of tolerance and democracy that are the foundation of a free society,” said the SRSG.

The school opening coincided with the start of the new school year, after being refurbished recently. Mr. Holkeri congratulated the Minister of Education Rexhep Osmani, who was present on the occasion, and the director of the school for the hard work done there.

“This is an expression of progress made so far, though more remains to be done for the sake of all children of Kosovo”.

“Good luck for the year ahead to the young pupils and to all children who are starting school throughout Kosovo,” concluded SRSG Holkeri.
