SRSG Invites Leaders in Pristina and Belgrade to Participate in Direct Dialogue

PRISTINA - SRSG Harri Holkeri today sent out formal invitations to the leaders of the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government and Serbia and Montenegro to participate in the launch of the direct dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade on practical issues of mutual concern. The event will take place in Vienna on 14 October 2003.

The SRSG has also invited the Contact Group member governments--the US, the UK, Germany, France, Italy and the Russian Federation--to participate as facilitators in the dialogue.

The NATO Secretary-General Lord Robertson, the EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana and OSCE Chairman-in-Office Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, have confirmed that they would be present in the meeting as guarantors.
