Applicants seeking UNMIK Press Accreditation
Cards are required to have the following items with them:
1.
Valid Passport, UNMIK Travel Document or ID card.
2. Original letter of accreditation/introduction from the editor/director
(see details below)
3. UNMIK registration form.
In
case of renewal:
1.
Valid Passport, UNMIK Travel Document or ID card
2. Previously held KFOR or UNMIK Press Accreditation Card.
3. A new letter of accreditation/introduction is required as well as
a form signed by an UNMIK point of contact.
The
letter of introduction from director/editor of agency should include
the following information:
1.
Name of the Applicant
2. Nationality, passport, UNMIK Travel Document or ID number.
3. Duration of assignment.
4. Professional title e.g. Reporter, Cameraman, Photographer (drivers
and interpreters are not entitled to accreditation).
5. A statement that the media agency will be fully responsible in the
event of any misuse or a abuse of the UNMIK Press Accreditation Card
issued to the applicant..
6. Printed name, position and signature of the chief editor, bureau
chief, department chief or executive producer, contact telephone/fax
number/e-mail and the address of the agency.
7. A brief description of the applicant’s assignment.
Statement
for Media Personnel
Members
of the media agencies are subject respectively to Albanian, Former Yugoslavian
Republic of Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro laws. Therefore, if
you normally require a passport to enter Albania, Former Yugoslavian
Republic of Macedonia or Serbia and Montenegro as a visitor, you will
need a passport while traveling with UNMIK Press Accreditation Card
into these countries. In addition and you may need a visa according
to your nationality.
The
UNMIK Press Registration Office retains the right to request substantial
evidence of the applicant’s journalistic background. This may
include original published articles, videotapes, published photos etc.
The
UNMIK Press Registration Office must be notified at least one working
day before the arrival of the applicant at the UNMIK Press Registration
Office. Any delay in the issuing of the press accreditation card will
not be the responsibility of the UNMIK Press Registration Office.
