DELL: INTOLERANCE SHOWS YOU'RE NOT READY FOR STATE OF KOSOVO

"The insulting shouting and whistling coming from the crowd of people sitting in the Sports Center "1 October", as soon as the interpreter started translating the speech of the internationals into Serbian, was an "ugly" behavior that stained the  graduation ceremony of the eleventh class of the Kosovo Police Service," was the message of international officials present at the ceremony, reported Koha Ditore on page one.

"Graduations are ceremonies of satisfaction… with this behavior you are displaying a picture of the past," U.S. Head of Mission in Kosovo, Christopher Dell told the crowd.

During the graduation of the eleventh KPS class, the speeches of international officials were first interpreted into Serbian and then in Albanian, which irritated the Albanian crowd who were requesting for the speech of internationals to be translated first into the Albanian language. This reaction did not allow the calm flow of the ceremony, added the paper.

"I am ashamed by your behavior, I am simply disappointed," said Christopher Dell while the crowd continued shouting. "Lately, there were many talks regarding Kosovo's future and the international community recognizes Kosovo's wish to form a state, but with such behavior you are proving yourselves not ready for such a thing," he added.

MOSCOW HOPES HAEKKERUP WILL LEARN FROM KOUCHNER'S MISTAKES

"Moscow hopes that the newly-appointed chief of the United Nations Civil Mission in Kosovo, Hans Haekkerup from Denmark, will learn from the mistakes of his predecessor Bernard Kouchner," it was said in a press release issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported Koha Ditore on page five.

The press release, issued last Wednesday noted: "during the eighteen months of work as head of the UN mission, Kouchner failed in ensuring the implementation of the key provisions of UNSC Resolution 1244. And he did not work towards establishing contacts with Belgrade".

"Furthermore, Kouchner completely discredited himself by not acting in accordance with 1244, by fitting to the separatist rules of Kosovar Albanian leaders and by making steps which violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yugoslavia," added the press release.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also expressed hope that the new chief of the mission would work according to the instructions of the United Nations Security Council fully respecting Resolution 1244, first of all the rules related to Yugoslavia's territorial integrity.

LDK ACCUSES PDK FOR CONTRIBUTING IN MURDER ATTEMPT

The wounding of Fetah Rudi, member of the chairmanship of the LDK branch in Malisheva and advisor to the Municipal Assembly, hurt the feelings of PDK councilors in Malisheva and led to their participation in the Municipal Assembly, reported Koha Ditore on page three.

On Friday while the delegation of LDK's branch in Malisheva was returning from Pristina where they attended the regular meeting with party's branches, another vehicle approached them and shot mercilessly at them. Fetah Rudi experienced grave bodily injuries while the other two party members were not hurt. Initially, it was said that Rudi was only slightly injured but the paper received information from LDK sources saying that Rudi was shot with three bullets and is in  critical condition in Pristina Hospital.

Before the start of the regular session of the Municipal Assembly of Malisheva, Sadri Robaj, councilor to the LDK branch, informed the Municipal Assembly chairman that he would read a statement issued by the party regarding the incident.

Through the statement, the party condemned the attack against its members and the wounding of Fetah Rudi, referring to the incident as news which caused deep indignation among the LDK membership and the people of Malisheva. "This criminal act against a member of the chairmanship is done with a transparent intention by the circles acting in the line of Fatos Nano, and Serb and Greek circles in order to impeded the independence of Kosovo. We would want the PDK not to be involved in this filthy act, but based on its behavior it comes out that it contributed in this act," said the statement.

Furthermore, the statement pointed out several accusations in the address of the PDK, thus it said that the PDK "contributed" to the incident that occurred with LDK followers in 24 October; the threats made before the first session of the assembly to LDK councilors Ramadan Buzhala and Rrustem Sahitaj and that unknown persons followed the recently wounded Fetah Rudi every single day.

On the other hand, Daut Krasniqi, chairman of the PDK branch, was quoted as saying, "the chairmanship and the advisors of the PDK condemn the wounding of Fetah Rudi. We ask from competent bodies to undertake all measures in order to find the perpetrators. Before this is done, we should not jump to conclusions. PDK declared against violence".
