UNMIK/PR/378 PRESS RELEASE - 2 October 2000 Licensing Requirements for Security Services Providers Issued PRISTINA---An Administrative Instruction pursuant to UNMIK Regulation 2000/33 on the Licensing of Security Services Providers in Kosovo was issued today, specifying the requirements to operate as a security services provider in Kosovo. Any Security Services Provider currently operating in Kosovo shall have 30 days to apply for a license from the UNMIK Business Registration Unit. This unit will take a decision on the application in consultation with the UNMIK Police Commissioner. The license will be initially issued for six months to be renewed for a year provided the security services provider continues to meet the requirements for the license. Any company portraying itself or otherwise operating as a security services provider without a license will be considered an unlawful activity and handled accordingly by UNMIK and KFOR. An information meeting open to the management of all security services providers shall be held at 3 p.m. on 4 October 2000 in Government Building.
