KTC Statement on Albanian Prisoners in Serbia

PRISTINA---The Kosovo Transitional Council (KTC) issued the following statement today:

“The Kosovo Transitional Council discussed the situation of unrest in several detention facilities in Serbia, including in Nis.

“The members of the KTC welcomed the statements made by SRSG and the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

“The KTC requests the relevant authorities in the FRY and in Serbia to ensure the security and well-being of all Kosovo Albanian detainees in Serb detention facilities.

“The KTC reiterates its demand to release all Kosovo Albanians illegally detained in Serbian prisons.”
