2 December

UNMIK moved the FRY passport and other offices from the former "Political Parties Building" on Mother Teresa Street to a new location in the Pristina industrial area, some two kilometres southwest of the capital on the main road to Fushe Kosove/Kosovo Polje.

3 December

The registration of the new Assembly members began at the Government Building.
o Thirty-four women members of the Assembly attended a training course, organized by OSCE and the National Democratic Institute. They learned and applied skills that would increase effective interaction within political parties and strengthen their contribution as decision-makers.
Penal Management announced the institution of a system of early prisoner release. Under the new policy, a convicted person who exhibits good behavior, makes effort in his work and actively participates in useful projects in the detention facility, and has spent three-quarters of the imposed prison sentence, may be conditionally released up to three months before the expiration of the imposed sentence.

4 December

Training for all members of the newly-elected Kosovo Assembly began. The seven-day training conference, organized by OSCE and the National Democratic Institute, sought to prepare the parliamentarians for their future work, so that they could acquire basic principles of governance in a democratic society.

5 December

The Transitional Department of Trade and Industry announced the opening of three Regional Enterprise Agencies in the regions of Pristina, Peje/Pec and Gjilan/Gnjilane. The mission of these agencies is to develop small and medium-sized enterprises by providing a range of advisory and consultancy services, assisting in creating a good environment for business, and offering training in the development of business management skills.
The Transitional Department of Education, Science and Technology launched a Ministry Empowerment Project which will provide assistance to the future Ministry of Education, Science and Technology by implementing a systematic training programme along with providing expertise in institution strengthening, personnel management and logistics. The project will be financed by a $500,000 grant from the World Bank.

6 December

Pristina Municipal Assembly resumed its activity in the presence of three Kosovo Serb members. The issues discussed included: the municipal budget; municipal property tax; draft regulations on rules and procedures for construction and allocation of construction land for temporary use; and construction of criminology institute.

7 December

The Transitional Department of Trade and Industry announced it would hold a series of seminars on the Pledge Law and the recently established Pledge Filing Office. The project is aimed to enhance the development of a market economy in Kosovo.
The BPK held a press conference on the preparations that were taking place to combat money laundering during the Euro changeover.
The European Agency for Reconstruction handed over waste-collection equipment to Kosovo's municipalities. In a project funded by the European Union, a total of 2,700 waste disposal bins and 38 waste compaction trucks to the value of 4 million euro were donated.
