Companies and
individuals are always looking to improve their business and to improve ways of
reaching their customers. The daily paper “Express” has found a better way on how to reach
out to people.
In a business world this is called marketing.
Express team now has the results for their research
to see if the Monday 10 cent price for the paper was a failure or a success?
Petrit Selimi, an executive director for marketing in express daily newspaper
shares his view with our Radio team:
“Definitely! 10 cent is good strategy marketing for
us. Kosovars are quite aware that they can not by anything with 10 cent,
therefore this is a good promotion campaign for us, and we can increase the
number of readers, this is our business”.
Another private business that draws specific
attention to a good marketing strategy and the use of Public relations planning
is Vjosa Berisha’s agency.
Together with her husband Fatos, Vjosa has run their
business now for 3 years.
Today Vjosa and her staff: Henor, Meli and Kushtrim
are in a brain storming session; they are trying to develop a products concept.
Vjosa does not hide the fact that 70% of her business
is mostly linked with international companies based in Kosovo, while only 30%
is with local companies.
One possible explanation for this is that local
clients are not quite aware that good marketing can actually increase the
number of customers and bring more money. Vjosa Berisha the director of the
Agency B2 explains further:
“In civilized world, marketing takes the major place
in one company, in order to maintain the success. With us (it) is a different
thing. I work for 3 years now, and people with business don’t like to spend the
money for marketing, but what they don’t now that this is a give and take
relationship, you have to give something in order to gain something back”
One of Vjosa’s clients is British Airways. Quite
often she visits their office, with a business purpose

Vjosa Berisha again:
“Our wish is always to have a client for a longer
period of time, to plan their yearly budget for marketing, to advice them which
seasons are best to advertise and so on”.
Another of Vjosa’s clients is the “Gacaferri” company
based in Peja, which was initially formed 1957 so they have a tradition and a
reputation for producing furniture.
But, what made them believe that through marketing they can achieve something that they have not achieved so far. Samir Lleshi the director for marketing of the company ‘Gacaferi” explains:
“From last year we had an urge to make bigger
investments, we would like to go across the border , our aim is to win the
Balkan market , but before we do that we need to create a brand,
a name as kitchen Gacaferi”.
This company is certainly trying to make their way up
with chances to export in the future, as using marketing a powerful tool for a
success.
In Kosovo using professional agencies to handle
companies marketing is a relatively new, and the price for this service varies
a lot from company to company.
“Prices in the marketing and Public Relations are
different, depended on how much the customer wants to spend, normally we go
with a minimal budget by giving a client maximum effort”.
Vjosa is satisfied with her annual profit, but this
does not stop her from trying new ways to be closer to her client. It is long
passed the normal 9 to 5 working hours and she is still at her desk working.
Images and brands are now part of our global world
and our everyday conversation, as Kosovo business establishes them and look for
new customers, both here and abroad marketing will become more important
