Hello and welcome to this radio edition of UNMIK TV’s Crime Watch programme.

Today the mysterious case of man in the overcoat.  It’s a murder that happened in Prishtina region and it has been puzzling the inspectors  since last November. An apparently motiveless murder of  68 year old Selmon Berisha, A night guard at the Arberia Engineering company.

Selmon Berisha was an ordinary man, trying to make ends meet as a night guard. He was a quiet man who didn’t seem to have any enemies. Or, at least it seemed so until last November.

On the 8’th of November Mr. Berisha left his house and went off to work, in the “Arberia” company depot on Prishtina-Podujevo road. Upon his arrival he spent a few minutes chatting with the other workers , before they left. They all say that he didn’t seem troubled, or act unusually. The next morning he was found dead – killed by multiple wounds from firearms.

After the investigators arrived they found a surprising scene: The late Mr Berisha was lying in a chair and his overcoat was on but, there were no bullet holes on the overcoat . Prishtina region investigator, Bahrije Bllaca says that there were other clues that say that he wasn’t killed where the body was found.

CUT 1: BLLACA: It can be possible that the victim, Mr. Berisha, may have been killed somewhere else . Since inside the offices we did not find any traces of a weapon being fired inside.

While KPS spokesman, Refki Morina, adds that, according to his family, friends and coworkers ,  the late Selmon Berisha didn’t seem to have any enemies. So who would want to kill a harmless old man?

CUT 2: MORINA: We have spoken to the family of the victim, and with the director of the company in which he worked and they all said that he had no quarrels with anyone , in his company or elsewhere

And another thing to puzzle the police, in this case, was the fact that nothing within the depot was missing. So, it seems that robbery is also out of the question. Bahrije Bllaca from Pristina region says that the only thing that the police is certain of, at this stage, is that the outcome of the case will be surprising:

CUT 3: BLLACA: There will be something surprising with this case since there was nothing stolen in the office or in the depot . And it was obvious that no one broke in, no one used force to get into the office where the victim was .

Selmon Berisha was killed on the night of the 8th of November last year. The identity of his murderer and the motives are still puzzling the investigators and the police would like your help on this case.
